This course is for aspiring blue water sailors and for those working towards the Yachtmaster OceanÆ Certificate of Competence.

VHF Short Range Certificate £85
A one-day course for anyone who owns or uses VHF Marine-Band Radio Equipment.

You will receive this in 7-10 days.
Essential for water-users and popular with kayakers, canoeists and other paddlesport users using handheld VHF Marine Radio.
To gain the VHF SRC using modern DSC (Digital Selective Calling) radios requires a good understanding of the GMDSS, Global Maritime Distress Safety and System.
At PTC we have much more than just the training radios to practice Voice and DSC exercises.

The VHF/SRC course is now available as an On Line course

Diesel Engine £85
A one-day course to help you prevent and solve issues with your diesel engine.
Mechanical failure is the main cause of resuce call-outs to yachts and cruisers.
This course will give you the knowledge to prevent, diagnose and fix most common problems at sea.
Basic self-maintenance is also covered.

We have a specially prepared Nanni/Kubota out of a Broads motor cruiser.
We’ve had this one mounted in it’s own trolley, complete with fuel system and exhaust.

This course is equally relevent to “yachties”, motor boaters or inland waterway cruisers.

Radar £85
A one-day course to teach an understanding of radar as an aid to navigation and collision avoidance.
Radar is a very effective navigation and safety tool, but can be easily mis-read by those without proper training, with potentially disastrous consequences.
IRPCS law states that if you have a radar on-board, you must know how to use it – don’t get caught out!
